4 Ways to Stay Hydrated This Winter

Staying hydrated in the summer is a given, however, did you know it’s as equally important for you to stay hydrated during the winter months as well? During the winter months, your body craves water to promote a healthy immune system, moisturized skin and helps regulate body temperature. Here are few tips to ensure you reach your water goals this winter.

1. First thing’s first.
As soon as you open those beautiful eyes make sure you drink at least 8 – 12 oz. of water before consuming foods or other dehydrating beverages such as coffee. Consuming water first thing in the morning is important to help blood flow and get you started on your daily water goals. Try to prepare a glass of water the night before and keep it on your nightstand for the next day. Plus, it’s almost like having breakfast in bed!

2. Warm + cozy.
You can always cozy up to a warm cup of herbal tea such as ginger tea which has disease-fighting properties and stimulates the immune system. Stick to only 1 – 2 cups a day.

3. Let’s have some fun.
Go wild with your water and infuse it with organic fruits like mango and pineapple, strawberry and lemon, cherry and lime. The options are endless and you’re taking in some extra nutrients. Grab a water bottle with a built-in infuser.

4. Goal!
Set mini goals throughout the day to maintain your water intake. Make sure to take in about 85 – 120 oz. per day. This goal may seem like an unattainable goal but you can do it! If you break it down to about 11 – 15 oz. every hour for eight hours, you will be right on target.

Happy hydrating!
